Mischa Barton has denied she was dropped by her agent because she hasn't landed any big roles since leaving the hit TV show.

The actress was rumored to have been dropped by the Creative Artists Agency -- which represents stars including Drew Barrymore and Natalie Portman -- after failing to land any high-profile acting jobs.

She has now joined New York-based Paradigm Agency and a representative for the star insists she made the switch voluntarily.

The spokesperson tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "Mischa left CAA -- she was not dropped."

MALIBU, CALIFORNIA - Wednesday July 23, 2008. Mischa Barton and boyfriend,Taylor Locke, spend an afternoon at the beach. The couple were spotted at a secluded beach in Malibu and spent the afternoon working on their tans. Barton and Locke, who is a guitarist for the band Rooney, kissed and rubbed sun tan lotion on one another. Enjoy the pictures!
